Proficiency Exams
Hey everyone!
Day one of my proficiency exams overall went pretty well. Theory was mostly okay. Melodic dictation and sightsinging… let’s just say I’m going to have some work to do on both of those. Conducting went pretty well too… I cued the cymbol crash at the right moment and kept time going. For my voice auditions, I’m going to get to take private lessons for a semester to fulfill my proficiency. For piano I will either start in Piano I or II.
Also I did choir auditions today, and I have a very good shot at getting into seminary choir – the list will be posted on Friday. I was talking to someone in the hallway and apparently they are generally looking for sopranos and have no shortage of guys?
Tomorrow morning, I have Theory Part II, then a lunch. Orientation and advising sessions will take place on Friday.
